This guide is based on my personal experiences from my April 2025’s 2021 trip to Nha Trang, i have also breakdown the best hotels in and around the beach so you on’t have to search more.In addition, here is all the best things to do in Nha Trang
Nha trang Beaches Map
Most beaches stretch along the Tran Phu street, with a few in the south & north. From what I’ve researched, the southern coast toward the Cam ranh and Vinh hy offer more stunning beaches due to its natural landscape, however this required a 2-3 hours trip.
1. Tran Phu Beach
Tran Phu Beach stands out as Nha Trang’s most popular spot, thanks to its convenient centeral location within walking distance from almost anywhere in the city. Sitting right next to the famous Tran Phu Street, this scenic seaside promenade is lined with luxury and mid-range beachfront resorts, cozy hostels, souvenir shops, museums, and lined with seafood restaurants.
When the sun sets, Tran Phu Beach becomes a nightlife hotspot. Top venues like Sailing Club Nha Trang and Skylight Nha Trang’s rooftop beach club offer lively experiences. If you prefer something more active, you’ll find plenty to do, from surfing and snorkeling to bicycle tours, spa massage, meditation, and yoga.
2. Hon Chong Beach
Just north of Tran Phu, Hon Chong Beach offers a less crowded beach in Nha Trang. A short drive from Po Nagar Cham Towers, this beach features unique rock formations stretching into the sea. Visitors can freely enjoy the sandy shore, but climbing the rocks requires a small fee. The stunning panoramic view of nearby islets and the crescent-shaped Nha Trang Beach makes it worthwhile.
Not far from the beach, the area has several coffee shops, seafood restaurants, and beachfront hotels. About 300 meters south, Hon Do (Red Island) houses a hilltop Buddhist temple, while Hon Rua (Tortoise Island) lies further northeast.
3. Bai Tru beach
Away from the Nha Trang beach, Bai Tru offers a relaxing escape on Hon Tre Island, right next to the massive VinWonders Nha Trang amusement park. The island is accessible by a 3,320-meter sea-crossing cable car, but you can also get there by ferry, high-speed boat, car, or motorcycle.
It is a kids friendly place and while most visitors come for the amusement park’s shopping mall, amphitheater, and thrilling rides, Bai Tru Beach provides a quieter beach to get drenched in. To spend a day here, you’ll need to pay an entrance fee, which includes return speedboat transfers, a buffet lunch, and access to both the beach and swimming pool.
4. Bai Dai Beach
28 KM south of Nha Trang center, Bai Dai is one of the most beautiful and pristine beaches in Nha Trang, with a long 1km, immense coastline, winding along the mountain slopes along the sea. With a flat coastline, fine white sand, clear and calm sea water, creating an incredibly beautiful and peaceful picture.
Along the coast, several seafood restaurants offers fresh foods, (remember to check the menu first). Also, once here, you can expect activities such as suba diving, banana boat ride, jet ski and many more with 200.000 VND (USD8).
5. Nhu Tien Beach
A short, 15km ride takes you to a unique beach not far from Nha Trang. Known as one of the most beautiful beaches in Nha Trang, Nhu Tien beach attracts tourists with its cool, clear blue water, surrounded by long white sand beaches and rows of coconut trees rustling in the wind.
Nhu Tien Beach captivates with its wild, poetic beauty surrounded by waves, wind, mountains, and clouds. Visitors can dive into the cool blue sea, breathe in the fresh air, or enjoy exciting water sports like paragliding, canoeing, and windsurfing. It’s also a perfect spot for energetic and youthful team-building activities.
6. Robinson beach Nha Trang
Way too hidden from the most touristy, crowded beaches in Nha Trang. Robinson Island sits southeast of Hon Tre Island, about 10 km from Cau Da Port. Locals once called it Dam Tre or Coconut Island, but visitors were so captivated by its untouched beauty that the name Robinson Island became widely recognized. Nice landscape, plenty of fish to see by snorkeling, but limited access only within the bay.
As one of the newest beach destinations in Nha Trang, Robinson Island offers a rare opportunity to experience unspoiled nature while enjoying the earliest sunrise over Nha Trang Bay. With the sea in front, a lush pine forest behind, and rugged cliffs on both sides, the island feels completely secluded.
Surprisingly, despite being only 16 km from the bustling Vinpearl tourist area on Hon Tre Island, Robinson Island remains a peaceful escape. Its rising popularity proves that travelers are eager for a more serene and natural beach experience in Nha Trang.
7. Hon Tam Island (Off Nha Trang beach)
I visited Hon Tam Island for mud bathing and swimming. While mud bathing may be great for the skin, sitting in a hot mud bath on a scorching day felt quite uncomfortable (So the resort should cool the mud bath off). However, the swimming pool and waterfall made up for it. The pool was crowded but still a lot of fun.
The view from the top of the waterfall was absolutely breathtaking, though climbing up required caution due to the sharp and slippery surfaces. Just a short ride from Nha Trang by high-speed boat, Hon Tam Island stands out as one of the most famous destinations for relaxation and unique experiences.
7. 1. How to get to hon tam island from Nha Trang?
If you’re staying at a resort on Hon Tam, check if they offer a free shuttle service from Nha Trang to the pier, followed by a complimentary canoe or boat transfer to the resort. At Cau Da Port, you can also rent a canoe or boat for a direct trip to the island.
8. Bai Tranh beach
Bai Tranh Beach offers a peaceful atmosphere, white sand, and clear waters, making it ideal for those seeking a quieter escape. The beach has ample seating, a bar, and a restaurant, though the swimming area is limited due to water activities.
To reach Bai Tranh Island (specifically Bai Tranh Beach on Hon Mieu Island) from Nha Trang, take a boat tour or a high-speed canoe from Nha Trang Tourism Port. Many tours offer hotel pick-up or a designated meeting point for convenience.
9. Hon Mun island
The pebble beach offers pristine water and amazing underwater views, but check the waves beforehand since high waves can affect snorkeling; most visitors explore this island through a tours in Nha Trang city, and despite occasional crowds, it’s a must-visit for its stunning marine life.
The area is home to abundant corals and small fish, but it needs better protection as fishing boats still linger, and marine park guards fail to enforce regulations effectively.
To get to Hon Mun island from Nha Trang, take a taxi or book it through grab to go to Cau Da Port, then, from here, take a canoe or speed-boat to the island. in April 2025, the canoe fare is VND 350,000/person (about $16), the boat fare is VND 250,000/person (about $10).
10. Doc Let Beach
11. Vinh Hy bay
When visiting Nha Trang and if you have more time, don’t miss the chance to explore Vinh Hy Bay. Whether swimming in its crystal-clear waters, scuba diving among vibrant coral reefs, or taking a glass-bottom boat through te amazing bay.
As one of Vietnam’s four most stunning bays—alongside Ha Long Bay, Lan Ha Bay, and Lang Co Bay—Vinh Hy Bay boasts pristine landscapes and mesmerizing blue waters. Located within ~2 hours ride from Nha Trang, offers a great chance to get relax and have an activity. For best experience, i recommend visiting in weekdays.
